Description

This smooth, creamy, and lightly sweet Russian Buttercream is made with just two main ingredients: butter and sweetened condensed milk. Perfect for frosting cakes and cupcakes!


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
  • Pinch of salt (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, beat the softened butter on high speed until pale and fluffy, about 5-7 minutes.
  2. Gradually add the sweetened condensed milk, one tablespoon at a time, beating well after each addition.
  3. Once fully combined, mix in vanilla extract and salt if using.
  4. Continue to beat until the buttercream is silky smooth and airy.
  5. Use immediately or store in the refrigerator and re-whip before using.

Notes

Ensure both butter and condensed milk are at room temperature to prevent curdling. If the mixture appears split, continue beating—it will come together.
