- 1 chocolate cake, baked and crumbled
- 2 packages (8 oz each) cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups whipped topping
- 2 packages (3.9 oz each) instant chocolate pudding mix
- 3 cups cold milk
- 1 cup mini chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the chocolate cake according to package directions and allow to cool completely. Crumble into bite-sized pieces.
- In a bowl, beat softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Fold in whipped topping to create the cheesecake mousse.
- In another bowl, whisk together instant pudding mix with cold milk until thickened.
- In a trifle dish, layer half of the crumbled cake, then half of the cheesecake mousse, followed by half of the chocolate pudding.
- Repeat layers and top with mini chocolate chips if desired.
- Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
Notes
For best results, make a day ahead to allow flavors to meld. Add shaved chocolate or berries for an extra touch.
