Description

An irresistible layered dessert featuring rich chocolate cake, creamy cheesecake mousse, and luscious chocolate pudding.


Ingredients

  • 1 chocolate cake, baked and crumbled
  • 2 packages (8 oz each) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups whipped topping
  • 2 packages (3.9 oz each) instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 3 cups cold milk
  • 1 cup mini chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the chocolate cake according to package directions and allow to cool completely. Crumble into bite-sized pieces.
  2. In a bowl, beat softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. Fold in whipped topping to create the cheesecake mousse.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together instant pudding mix with cold milk until thickened.
  5. In a trifle dish, layer half of the crumbled cake, then half of the cheesecake mousse, followed by half of the chocolate pudding.
  6. Repeat layers and top with mini chocolate chips if desired.
  7. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.

Notes

For best results, make a day ahead to allow flavors to meld. Add shaved chocolate or berries for an extra touch.
